engine work - switching engine parts

Help!  I recently bought a 1982 Merc. 560 sec, euro. model.  Its almost impossible or is impossible to find any motor parts, or any part for that matter for the same year, model etc..I was told I can use the same motor parts, body, parts etc from the 1984 Merc. 500 sec. that the engine etc is all the same. Does anyone have information regarding this?  Thank you in advance.

Hi,

I`m a little confused by your post. If I am correct the 560SEC was not launched untill after 1985 (thats when the 126 range recived a mid life face lift).

If you have a 560SEC than it cannot be a pre 1985 model.  what year is your 560SEC?

Thank you for your response..The year of my car is a 1982 Mercedes 560 SEC. Which was made in Germany. I was told I can use engine parts from a 1984 Mercedes 500 SEC???
