Could simply be fuel has evaporated or dropped back in the fuel lines through lack of use, hence recovering after brief lag.

Also had one episode on my old CLS years ago, where it sounded like a tractor running on 3 cylinders on a.cold start one morning.

Turned it off, spoke to an Indie as in was worried, turned it back on again and it was fine! Turns out the injection system is very sensitive to low voltage on the battery.

Worth giving the battery a good charge, or put on a conditioner?
