Bonkers depreciation!!!Thanks for the replies, I am looking at a AMG E53 Estate at the local dealership.
It was registered August 2019 and list was £70k and they are asking £48k for it.
I am going to look at it this afternoon and taking it for a test drive.
Great isn't it (for us second buyers)Bonkers depreciation!!!
See, I knew you’d begin to think this way!Hmm maybe my wife should have my 212 and I find a nice 213,
My eldest is looking for a Mercedes to replace my Smart that he’s been using. Any links or just on the MB car search website?I just had a chat with a good friend who sold me my E500.He's a salesman at a west country main dealer and he said that there are some really good deals on nearly new MB's at the moment. He wasn't trying it on with me as he knows I'm happy with what I've got.
Not as much as it looks though. When I bought mine (via CarWow) I saved over £14k on the list price, so while it has lost money, it probably hasn't lost as much as it looks relative to the price paid (rather than list)Bonkers depreciation!!!
Well at the end of the day I test drove the E53 and although it was quite impressive I decided that it did not make sense.
My head took over from my heart and I decided to stick to a basic diesel but still in Premium Plus spec.
Again there seems to be a constant supply of cars just over 6 months old at a healthy 33% discount and they will have a car in the colour I want from Mercedes next week.
It will keep our old dog happy for the next few years and then I will buy something more interesting.
I am also interested to hear too..Out of interest, what part of it didn't make sense? Overall price, fuel economy or something else?
They’re stored at Chelveston Airfield ermmmmm someone told meAn independent car dealership owner friend knows the trade inside out. He told me that ex Mercedes management & demos are on a list that is circulated to dealers, with MB owned dealerships getting first bite. They're making money on them of course, but there are still be some very appealing bargains. Some dealer advertised cars are still stored in fields around the MB HQ, in I think, Milton Keynes, cars are a year old or slightly more, mostly under 5000 miles, top spec and as new by the time a potential customer sees them. Full remaining MB warranty of course, but initially friend tells me that these ex-Mercedes cars are normally only available through a Mercedes dealership, dealer friend has seen lists himself, but almost all the cars are snapped up by MB dealers.
