hi ,i own a 2000 e240 v6,since i have owned this its driven me round the twist and back again everyday i drive it ,reason, an exhaust rattle /vibration,embarrasing when you pull away up to 2000 revs,over that it goes,after weeks of trying to trace it i found it,NOT cats ,NOT baffles,but a 100mm insert of bellows that MB put in for "fitting tolerance",when i say bellows it looks like your vacuum hose easy explain,but 70mm diameter approx,FIX ---deform the bellow bit in a few places to effectivley stretch the form and make it tighter,i was getting so frustrated with this i started to look for a new exhaust ,so its not always cats or baffles gone faulty,a few turns on a carver clamp works wonders (or gee clamp) hope this helps someone and its a free fix ,took weeks and weeks to find though
