Well I never!

Today I detached the external air temperature sensor, cleaned up the earth tab, reconnected it and found it was still showing me -38 degrees C for about five seconds, then blank, just like before. On the grounds that small triumphs are worth having, especially since I need to replace the leaking a/c condenser (a job I'm procrastinating over) , I had a poke about under the front valance. Following the cable from the sensor, I found that someone had cut the twin-core. I reconnected it - solder and heatshrink - and lo and behold, the LED temperature display now works.

But why on earth (!) would someone cut that cable? Makes no sense to me... On the other hand, getting it working was a darn sight easier than I'd expected.

Welcome and well done.
I wonder if someone cut the cable during bumper removal (following a prang?).
Bit silly really but well done for fixing it.

Ots always nice to take a logical approach and do a proper fix. Most rewarding and well done.

As above is the only (il)logic reason for it to be cut.
