Hello everyone,

I'm not at all car savvy so please bear with me :D

I got into my car on Saturday morning and when I turned the engine on it began to jolt as if it wanted to take off although it was in park.

As I am WFH it's not being used as often and as it is a diesel I thought it would be best to give it a good run around the M25 but as I was doing so the car engine light appeared so I've taken it to the garage and the fault has come up as P061B64.

I've recently had it serviced and MOT'd

As mentioned I am not at all car savvy and the internet is a confusing place.. If someone could kindly explain what this fault is and what the possible causes are along with the works that would have to be carried out to fix this issue it would be much appreciated!

Thank you.

Did the car perform well on the motorway?
What is the mileage?
Where is the car at the moment.?

Points to a power control module which makes sense, however it needs more diagnostic on a Mercedes specific machine to narrow down what's happening.
Is it driveable and where are in London area (Making assumptions based on the M25 mention...)?

@mattkh @John Laidlaw hello both, thank you so much for coming back to me! I often take the car up and down the country for work and I have not had any car performance issues at all! This is the first fault I've had with the vehicle. It has 32,000k on the clock.

I've drove it since to the garage where it is now and its not had any issues and the jolting has not returned.

Its been hooked up to a diagnostics machine which states - The torque calculation of the control unit has a malfunction. There is an implausible signal.

From my research online I can see it references air filters as a suspected issue on this fault.

I've also just had the car resprayed two weeks ago if that's of any help?

Thanks again!!

Oh btw - based in North London.

Thanks for the answers.
I doubt if the paint spray got in to the Mass Airflow Sensor..!
Do you feel the cold weather may have had something to do with the initial cold start..?

@mattkh possibly but the jolt it was giving out on Saturday wasn't a cold engine jolt it was a lot more forceful. I waited for the engine to heat up to see if the jolt would stop but this continued to happen until I put it into gear?
