I have a 91 300ce, 18 mths ago I had a reconditioned Fuel distributor fitted, I now have the same problem again(once the engine is hot the car misfires and has a serious lack of power splutters then cuts out when the engine is under stress from pulling away, once the car is moving and the revs are steady it runs fine.(until it gets that bad that it wont start) Q.1,Is a replacement one easy to fit? (fed up being ripped off with extortionate prices for work)Q.2, is there anything that would cause it to go again? ANY HELP GREATLY APPRECIATED.

Hi Lee,

I'm quite new to this forum, I have just posted a similar repy to this, but it would be worth looking at the fuel pump relays!
I have a 420s class, that would start and run fantasticly when cold however getting upto opeating temparature would splutter, run lika bag of nails, cut out when atempting to pull away and eventually just not start until completly cold again. It was a progressive decline to this state over a couple of months, however oncethe relays were replaced it now runs like new!

good luck !
