Having washed one of my Keyless Go cards at 60c it did not want to work again, so I ordered a new one from MB South West.
They rang me when it came in,and as I had to do the 25 mile trip to Exeter anyway i called in to pick it up, knowing that it had to be programed to the car. The stores lad goes out to the car to try it,and it does not work, and goes into the back room, comming out 5 mins later saying that it has to be programmed to the car. As I had wasted my journey I could have the card for nothing,but the car would have to be booked in. So it was fixed for today.
Last Tuesday the service manager rang me to say that they were very sorry for their error and my wasted journey and offered to pick up the car free of charge and return it later in the day. Rather than someone else drive the car I said no, I will bring it to you. The service manager then said OK we will charge you to program it, and the cost will be taken off the next service.
The key was programmed, and I had a very nice day, even offered me a job.
Brand new Smarts are on sale, reduced from £14k down to £9k this is the new one,this makes them cheaper than all of the secondhand ones, dont get it.
