I have a c36 and am wondering how difficult/expensive would it be to fit a tiptronic 5 speed to a c36.  It currently has a 5speed, but I drove my brothers new c200k with a tip box and would like one in my c36.

Is it a nasty job or a relatively straight forward exchange?

Has anyone tried just a task before?

any hints appreciated.

Thanks

The gearbox is the same only the selector is different and possibly the ECU.
As Fuzzer said "it is a toy". The car works best if left to it's own devices.  Use Drive only.

There's also the dash (selected gear)  display to consider....though it may not be entirely necessary.  Have to agree with others, its a nice toy to play with occassionally, but realistically it'll spend most of its time in D.

Fitting a tip gearbox

I'd be interested in making the change if it is easy, I have tried using stick shift, in prep to 'blast past' those annoyng Porches, but it is easy to accidently drop to the wrong gear.  I feel that the tip would be an easier tool to use.

I agree that 99% of the time 'D' is perfect, but the odd occasion I want to preselect.

Does anyone know the best place to seek professional advice on the modification?

Many thanks
Dave
