Hi all, hope all’s good. Back from a shopping trip and.......Red Battery Light on and Go to Workshop lights up. Hooked up my reader, nothing. Opened bonnet and there is Florescent Green Liquid all over the Serpentine Belt and the lower plastic cover. What can it be? My PAS fluid looks “oil” colour, A/F looks clear? Would it be Air Con fluid? Help!

Engine coolant is what it will be

If battery light is on has the serpentine belt snapped?

This would stop the alternator charging (giving the red battery light)
It also drives the water pump... which could mean the car has overheated causing the coolant to boil and over pressure the reservoir cap spraying it over the engine

Hi, thanks for reply. Serpentine belt is good, the first problem I had with this car was the Pulley seized and shredded the belt, not a nice experience as lost everything, scary!

Did you notice the engine temperature when driving?

Is the coolant reservoir empty?

Make sure the engine is cold and remove the cap from the reservoir because if you look from the outside the "tide mark" of the fluid might look like it's at the correct level when in reality it is empty

Thanks again, I’ve only had a quick look as I have been working on my project GTO all day and to be honest, I’m fed up with cars at the moment! What has thrown me is how vivid the green is and the liquid in the clear coolant container looks.....clear! I’ll have a proper look tomorrow

Get Vice Grip Garage to get it going and drive it home (he's in the States) - his exploits on You Tube barn finds are hilarious.

That was really cool, I love bringing cars back to life and have done many, the last one I did was 2 weeks ago with a Volvo that was or has been lying dormant since '98 :D The only car I failed to bring back to life was a '65 Pontiac Laurentian. :(

There are many more examples and he often won't make a drink as it takes effort and makes him have to get up.

It takes your body 9 to 10 hours to produce 2 cups of urine. That's about as long as you can wait and still be in the safe zone without the possibility of damaging your organs.

Strangely enough I found this.
