Hi,

Recently bought a lovely CLS in these long summer days so didn’t test the headlights (lesson learned). Took it to my local garage and needed all new parts, ballast and so on and cost £300 for the pleasure. Just out of curiosity does that seem excessive?

Welcome :)

Depending on what the fault was, £300 doesn;t seem out of the way. Cant see me getting away with that amount if my headlamp unit fails!

What did it need? A ballast at £300 is indeed expensive. What more could it need?

ask what the parts price was and the labour and take it from there.
Without knowing if the ballast is easily accessible and plug and play or if the bumper needs removing then the headlamp I cannot answer, either secnario will play on the labour cost...
