Fuel delivery issue: W123 300 D

Hi,

I am a victim of using poor quality fuel. As a result, I've had to spend £200 on having the injectors cleaned, the injection pump reconditioned, and all fuel lines to changed. The fuel tank has been drained (but not cleaned) and now the car is running well. However, there is an issue which I cannot diagnose.

The car pulls like a train, however once it gets hot, a sudden loss of power is seen. At this point, the engine turns over, but keeps stalling, even with full throttle. Its as if the fuel system is being choked.

Any ideas? I am taking it back to the diesel specialists who did a good job on the injectors, but not too sure what they did with the injection pump.

I'd appreciate any advice.

Best wishes,

Sounds like air in the injection system or the lift pump is faulty.

thanks, is the lift pump apart of the injection pump?

the issue is that the car pulls like a train when cold, but not when its hot. it seems to lose pressure when hot. i sincerely hope its not the head.
