I need to buy a new fuel hose. It goes from the feed pump to the shut off valve on the front of the engine. The Russian site gives 2 part numbers, A 611 070 08 32 and A611 070 27 32 but no indication as to the difference between them. Does anyone know which one I need for engine No. 611 960 30228824?

TIA and a happy new year to you all.

A few.
For such a safety critical part would it not make sense to call an MB dealer, give them your VIN & be assured of getting the correct part or part number?

All the dealers that I know will only order/supply against the VIN of the car, and you will always get the correct latest version.

They even double check for you on Inchcape:D

Really? If I order a part by part number the MB dealers around here are quite happy to sell me that part.

Well I suppose there are good dealers and bad ones every where. if you let your dealer check the part number and the part that come in is the wrong one they will take it back,,, they will not if ordered from your part number:D

Thanks for the replies. I'm sorted for the parts now through Waterhouse.
I was going to use Inchcape but their site showed both part numbers as being for a different model to my car.
Incidentally, A 611 070 08 32 is the part I've ended up with.

Why does that make them a bad dealer?

Because a good dealer checking via the VIN does take out any error, it saves time and money for both parties. And to go one stage further you cannot order say a door controller for the newer cars without ordering via the VIN as they now come coded from the factory for the car in question and all part of the SCN coding program
