fuel tank 300te Help please!

I've had the head on my 300te fixed and I am glad I did so because the car is great! I know have a rather big problem. Fuel is leaking from the metal pipe that goes from the filler cap to the fuel tank and I mean leaking! The tank seams in perfect condition but the pipe is shot. Is this a common fault? If so can it be fixed without a new tank? and if not does anyone know where a tank maybe found? I am in worcester near birmingham and the car is an estate w124

Thanks for all the advice I am trying to patch it (first) as I've found its just a very small pin prick in the feeder pipe, but have already failed once, maybe I need to leave it longer to cure next time and if not new tank it is!
