There was a noticable in-rush of air when I removed the fuel filler cap on my 1995 E320 (W124) the other day. Does this suggest that the charcoal emissions filter through which the fuel tank breathes, in partially choked? These are supposed to be changed every so often and I have no idea when mine was last changed - the car has covered big miles.
