Further Update on "engine racing when cold"

Unfortunately, contrary to the reports from the MB dealer, when I drove the car today from cold, it was behaving as before ie idling at 1400 rpm. So it looks like it's back to square one !
Any more ideas anyone? Please !!

I am going to hook it up to the voltmeter again tomorrow to see what's going on. Might get some clues.
