We have recently purchased a 20 year old G wagen 300 GD, with automatic transmission. It is great fun. However, I suffer from auto hypochondria - a fear that any symptom or the lack of symptoms indicates impending mechanical failure. For example, should gear change (on level surface with moderate right foot) occur at high or low revs?
Would like to share experience and information with others.

Robert

Hi

If it ain't broke don't fix it. If the vehicle feels like its changing comfortably. Don't worry. Its a 300D which means you have to give it a bit of welly to get it going.

Changing the subject slightly. If you want to see what them babies can achieve. Take it off road. Even in standard form they run rings round Disco's and Range Rovers. Put a set of off road tyres on it high ratio diff locks on, and you on your way. Nothing stops you!!!

Have fun!!

Regards

Thanks Andy!

On the basis that size does not matter - we have a SWB!
