Kids with silver spoons can be extremely annoying.

With a little bit of help, our granddaughter bought a very clean low mileage/one owner Hyundai Amica. She treats the car like it's brand new and has fitted new wheel trims, mud flaps and mirrors etc and it's all because she had to scratch around to find the money in the first place!

The silver spoon kids will never understand!

We had the same growing up with music equipment. Been in bands with a few members having Dr parents. I had the cheap stuff they had the expensive american brands all bought new all ruined within months. I still have some of my equipment that i bought myself and ive grown up to understand how hard ive had to work to buy the expensive brands. My kids will have the same life lessons

I feel sorry for the kids who grow up feeling entitled. Their future is full of bumps in the road that will feel like mountains. Their parents create this flaw.

If we dont teach our kids the skills to get through life who will?. I know lockdown is a pain for everybody but its beautiful to watch my kids do things again that I done as a kid this last 3 weeks. Adventure discovery walks on their own with the dog and picnics of soft drinks and crisp sandwiches in the local forest, rope swings, building huts out of old dead branches and being generally happy learning the stuff no classroom can teach for one example. I for one have realised if we are spared the virus things are going to be different for me.

I've come to the conclusion that most of these "reality" shows are simply there to set up the participants to be ridiculed by the majority of the population. These characters simply either don't appear to have the brain cells to realise this or their egos are so gigantic that reality does not enter their heads. In some ways it's very sad indeed.

Or they are quite willingly prepared to be ridiculed or made fun of for what the Americans term "30 seconds of fame" or being the latest big Youtube channel. For those that ridicule them there sadly will be twice as many who will blindly follow them on various social media thinking they are great and making them a fortune in doing so. Whos the fools in reality

Being cynical I would say they are actually well aware of ¡t all and are deliberately doing it to get a reaction to boost their instagram/youtube hits which is most likely how they make the 2500 a month in the first place - It's the new version of those "how to become a millionaire" 30 minute TV ads that were on most channels in America 10-15 years ago where all the cars and jets are hired and the only actual money is from people buying their book on how to become a millionaire! How that sort of thing was legal let alone people bought it in their droves I'll never know.

I mean the mother in the TV clip was a self made business woman so not completely stupid and even the 15yr old spoilt brat, although annoying and entitled, explained her point of view in a coherent enough pitch in a way that many "successful" Americans (e.g their current president) would not be able to. I doubt either were naive enough to think that they would get genuine sympathy.

Sadly it's all part of the instant stardom of today.

SWMBO likes the tv program Gogglebox (I don't mind it although I usually sleep well through the second half)! A young girl whose name I don't remember started appearing in the show - she said nothing remarkable but then a few weeks later she was featured in one of SWMBO's mags and described as a "Television Personality".

The mind boggles!

I got less than two minutes into this vid and had to switch it off.

First, I wanted to slap the self entitled brat and, then her mother, repeatedly, for creating her in the first place.

Ok, Mom, has had to work hard to get ahead, but her darling daughter just hasn't learned that lesson at all, Mom has totally screwed her head up, she has no concept of reality at all.

A couple of months of some sort of "Boot camp" is required there, something that will teach her the basics of human life and what is expected of people, not the "entitled" sh1t that she was spouting.

Gods!!! folk like that kid just get me so wired and angry!!! FFS! there are people starving in the world and surviving despite working their nuts off for a hell of a lot less than $2500 a month. Me for example!

In fairness to yer wan, did one of them mention they live in LA/Beverly Hills.. I can't imagine $2500 would go far there in a month.
