Well today was the day ...

This car is now an animal to drive its insane ,i am up 46 BHP and 109 NM of torque also changed shifting + 500 RPM from 1st to 3rd and 850 there after and limiter forgot to mention the mpg is 6 better just on a short run GCL have advised the map will need 40-60 miles to learn my driving style ...

For any one that wants more power or economy i must say this is the way to go , Sceptical at first but its absolutely blown my socks off as for the wife well not happy at first but a few hundred pounds later and she loves it . We have now booked our 330D in to be done !

Last of all a BIG BIG thanks to Gary @ GCL Tuning for all his and his teams efforts, Look forward to our next meeting !

Sounds like a winner all round. :D There must be a catch.

Have you told your insurance company? If so how did it affect your premiums?

Chris.

Interesting post, but you don't give any details as to what car you've had remapped.

Maybe I should be referring to one of your earlier posts for this information?

Is it worth me getting mine re mapped,,I have 308 as standard and it can be changed to give 329 I think, but would this mean that I would have to use premium fuel

Petrol engines never give as good an increase as the diesels

I Think that the increases are just about the same gcl tuning had a 911 turbo in at the same time i was chatting to the chap that owned it he was hoping for 110 bhp and 120 torque that a big gain on an already quick car ... maybe every day diesels have bigger power gains for every day cars but the big boys toys also have just as good

Again, forced induction (turbocharger) is responsible for the big gains. Petrol or diesel is mostly irrellevent. If you remap or fit a chip, forced induction is the only way of supplying the extra inlet air to complete the combustion cycle and give a lot more power than standard. Without forced induction, the gains are a lot smaller unless you start swapping engine parts and spending serious money.

I lead to believe the Chips or tuning boxes are inferior to a bespoke job ... so the potential gains from a chip would not come up trumps with a custom remap
