Gearbox not engaging / loosing power / EGF

Hi Guys

A few queries if you can help.

1. The car will sometimes loose power this happens when you are accelerating and the it seems like a fuel starvation ie hunting ...however its very irregular and if its bad it goes into limp mode however once switched and the key removed for a minute or so its back to normal.

2.It has recently started to not engage in gears ie you can put it in reverse and nothing happens however shift it about and it will engage ...this is very recent.

3.The ERG ?? on the steering wheel has apparently failed and needs replacing they are £350 each so was wondering if that could be effecting any on the above ?

You'll need the error codes from the OBD2 socket to find out what Is wrong

I would agree to get the codes read, but it sounds like the box is low (very) on gearbox oil.

I have an E250 auto, and recently had the problem where the gears would not engage properly, and the gear changes were very unusual. This went on and off for a few days, and then the car died completely. Turns out that the main battery failed. It wasn't just flat - it had failed completely, and was unable to even crank the engine over, and the dashboard display showed a different unusual display.

If possible, check the main battery.

Guys had car checked loads of alerts however which now been wiped however y local garage cant do a gearbox oil change !
