Hi I am experiencing problem with my 7g auto gearbox, but because it is a hybrid model not getting very far in having repaired. When stationary and try to pull away it sometimes becomes jerky and little power, also when asking for power when going can also do the same.
Does anybody know somebody who may be able to repair.
Main dealer said needs new gearbox!
Cheers

The usual cheery diagnosis from an agent who doesn't want to see the car.

Certainly some on here have had them, it sounds a casual diagnosis.
Do you have a MB "Star" diagnosis report for those on here who know better than me about them ?

Sounds like a valve body or gearbox electrics fault. It can most probably be fixed without replacing the whole gearbox :)

If that was a 5G I'd say conductor plate....

Gearbox electrics are essentially the same thing on the 7g, as the TCU and the conductor plate is now one unit.

As is the Hybrid motor on this one...

Well, the Torque converter has been replaced with an electric motor. I don't see that reparing this box would be any different to repairing one from a non hybrid vehicle.

'twas tongue in cheek Alex, I'd agree but suspect the MB main dealers wouldn't

Hi,
I just joined as a member to this forum and I read your post which is very similar to my current issues. Since yours was over a year ago, I was wondering if u did manage to get the problem resolved. If so, would you mind sharing how you overcame the problems. Cheers! Peter
