This year i became a proud owner of a M reg 250d automatic
Last Monday it sailed though am MOT with 211 thousand miles on the clock
It also got a service while it was there
On Wednesday it started going wrong
When i was driving it start to jump at about 3000rpm, now when I engage drive or reverse nothing happens until I press the accelerater at about 2500rpm it starts to move it also lost fluid yesterday as well. could the garage have done anything wrong
has any body got any ideas what it could be and what it would cost to put right

When you say it lost fluid yesterday, do you no were it came from, what sort of oil it was & how much it lost.

Try starting the engine, putting the parking brake on, and moving the gearbox through all gears backwards and forwards, for about 2 minutes - idle speeds only.

Just thinking if they've changed the gearbox fluid, it may not have worked its way fully around the system.

Chances are though its low, as slipping is a classic sign of low ATF.

ATF is automatic transmission fluid, you said in your first post that you were leaking fluid, could this have come from the box.

It definately sounds like your gearbox is low on Automatic Transmission Fluid. DON'T drive it like this as you will quickly knacker your box!

A pipe went on my 300D to the transmission oil cooler (under the radiator) and it lost ATF. Should be a simple fix, but don't risk damaging your box.
