hi there all. the gearbox is only a few months old and it stuck in Park... it jus wont come out of it. the brake lights are working and there was no lights ever on the dash indicating any problems.

the car is on a slight incline and my dad didnt bother to put the parking brake on. jus stuck it in Park.

Are there way of getting it out of the Park postion. its moves a little but as though if the key isnt inserted.

what do i do???

The gearbox pin will be stuck in its hole and the weight of the car will be providing too much force for it to come out.
I would try getting 3 or 4 blokes to push against the car to effectively push it back up the incline (with the parking brake off) while someone sits in the car to push the lever out of Park when the weight comes off the pin. Ignition on, and foot on the footbrake once the weight is off it, should then be able to get it into Reverse, Neutral etc.
Please feed back and let us know how you get on.

Who fitted the gearbox? could it be taken back?

ok now, as its stuck in park.... but could the people who fitted it come and look at it, it may be an unrelated problem, but you never know.

As for pushing the car.....
I'm sure you didn't forget a simple thing like this but its worth mentioning. When you pushed the car (probably with 2 or 3 people) and one in the car trying to get it out of park.. they were depressing the footbrake (slightly so as to allow the lever to be released but not acting as a brake)??

gearbox is under warrenty and they said its nothing to do with the gearbox and he cant look at it.

he advised there is a fault with the gear selector.

Should i call the AA back and get the car moved to the nearest dealer???

they pushed car slighty and thenpushed the brake to get it out of the Parking...
