I have a C class CDI 2litre 20o6 model. I've recently had problems were the gearbox has difficulty changing gears especially around the low gears. It's worse when cold and some times sticks in gear. has anyone any idea what the problem is?
we do love merc boxes dont we? just as s-a-m says usually its the switch seals as merc keep trying diff seals prob because of cost, now they are using the black seals that they were using years and years ago.
I've heard from this forum in previous posts that lowering the gearbox oil level by approx 1 litre will relieve the problem - is this the case? I have the same problem with my C220CDI manual.
manual boxes are often a lttle notchy, especially until you get used to them. i prefer them though. cant say ive evr heard of lowering the level curing problems, unless the box has been overfilled to begin with!
