Glow Plug snapped in head

I have a V6 2010 E350 Coupe. I stupidly bought some cheap Glow plugs off Ebay. They were terrible. Upon taking them back out , I managed to snap one in the head.

If I dont manage to get it out, can I just take one head off . I nderstand that it probably isnt best practice, but is it possible.

No problem removing just one head.

Take it to a specialist, we sub contract to a firm that specialises in removing snapped glows, rethreading injector bolts etc. We strip for access and he removes.

as above it can be done without strip down , snap on make a tool for removing damaged glow plugs

It's not just cheap glow plugs that shear. They all can because they're hollow. The shear strength is often something like 35 Nm so removing them is always a lottery.

I saw something on youtube where a guy was removing them with a 1/4 impact driver. May have been linked through this forum, can't remember.

I snapped one of mine using just a 1/4" T Bar

I had one snap in an old diesel engine.. I put around 4 hrs on it then it popped out !
