My friend Pete has got for sale a really solid, up together 350SL that is now for sale. It's a really early one (1972-3) on an L registration and the amazing thing is that it's NOT a rusted out, bodged up, filler laden old nail. It's a LHD import from Japan with working air con, all original panels and paint, but later eighties 500SL wheels. Just had a major service with a new timing chain and looks like it's got a real MB exhaust. Faults? Small (and I mean small) bubbly bit on the inner corner of each front wing plus paint reaction where the boot spoiler goes on. Colour metallic black, mileage about 100'000 km (60'000 miles). Price £3500. It may have a hard top, I'm not 100% sure. It's MOT'd and I've a feeling it might be tax exampt.
Having looked at no end of rusty horrors, this one is absolutely proper and not a rebuild project - £500 in a paint shop would genuinely sort it all out. Mechanically A1 plus. Pete's number is 07970 645599.

Yep it's still there. But be aware that Pete is very short with people and won't tolerate messers - not at this sort of price anyway! Go armed with ££££ and he'll be your best mate!!
Start on the assumption that any W107 under £5000 is rubbish/scrap and you'll be very pleasantly surprised. I've driven it myself and it does go okay/good brakes etc.
