Just bought the wife a mini cooper S, the company car is due on the first of April so the C43 AMG is getting ' Ebay'd' next week . I just have to say that it has been an absolute pleasure to have owned and driven a true drivers car for the last four years. I have to admit that the servicing costs of 1k a time and having to deal with the muppets at the dealership have broken my heart but hey everytime i drove it i smiled!!! It has seen us across europe a few times and went from Glasgow to Newquay in just over 5hrs (alledgedly!!)
All that is left to say is that If any one out there is looking for a true sports saloon that can take everything that you can throw at it and more, then these rare beasts should be your pleasure because if anything was made to put a smile on your face and still be legal it is the C43 AMG, if you have any doubts just look at the TopGear Webpage..........so much cooler than an EVO, Porche, BMW....it's a Retro thing, class!!!!!

Ebay isn't always the best place to sell if you want a good price I find, too many people looking for bargains :( Still, as far as price goes, depending on mileage and condition, history etc, anywhere from £5k-10k really, most fall in the middle around £8k for a "good" one. Hope that helps.

Cheers,
Mark

Cheers, I just think it's crazy that merc can't or are not willing to give me a value on this car. The two dealerships that i dealt with for services had no mechanics that had worked on one before.

Dealerships don't have mechanics any more.....they are technicians. If the computer doesnt tell them the problem, they are totally stumped !!!!!

You should see the problems I am having with a basic cooling problem on my W202 !!!!

Can you please post the ebay link ?....Id like to take a peek.

i have to say.. whilst I admire your selling technique.... here is not the place to try and get shot of your motor......! however... if it works then let me know!!!!!!!! autotrader or pistonheads seems to be the best.....

no offence!!! but i'm not trying to sell this car on MB, just trying to get feedback on what other merc owners think of it's condition and value. I bought it cash 4 yrs ago so it was never an investment just pleasure (at the tax mans expense!!!) It was never about the money as most merc owners would agree.........i hope?

Hi,
Its in a very good colour, designo interior, and appears in mint condition, I don,t think e-bay is the right place personally to sell it I agree with jbpb auto trader maybe a better place.
I have followed a few through e-bay I don,t think you,ll see any bids much above £6500-7000, auto trader I think you,ll get £7500-£8000.
But undoubtedly a lovely car in a gorgous colour.
All the best in selling it keep us posted how you get on.
Hope you get what you want for it.

Ive always loved this colour.....you don't see many of them around at all in this colour.

Ive never been a fan of the twotone interior but your one is just right !!!

Your car looks fantastic.....I would buy this car if I was in the market for one.

Unfortunately C43 prices seem to be on the decline. Awuful lot of car for very little money but what with current fuel prices and also the mega parts costs for these, they tend to suffer price wise as a result.

I really hope you get what you want on this car because it is very nice:D

I ddn't pay anything LIKE that for my '98 S320L - AND it had only 65K on the clock with FMBSH..!!

Looks a nice car though - pity it has to go.

All I did was post the result of some quick research from checking the following sites and coming up with an "average" price to give him an idea like he asked - Ebay, Pistonheads and Auto Trader all have/had cars in that range and £8k was the average when I looked - could be £6k now if any of the more expensive ones have been sold, dropped in price or withdrawn.

I never said it was THE definitive price or whether even the car was worth that much. It's always down to whatever the market will bear anyway. Some people will still happily pay £10k or more for a C43 others won't spend over £5k - doesn't mean either one is right or wrong. Besides, apples & oranges really - your S is not an AMG or a C class so you can't really compare even though maybe going on the original purchase price the S320 may well have been more expensive than the C43 of the same vintage...depreciation, the AMG badge and numbers of cars made all have an influence...

Cheers,
Mark
