Government cuts short MOT extension to August

Mines already been extended to 15th December

The DVLA website is still recording that I have a 6 month extension until December. Did the article say these were being revoked?

Just checked mine, was due 22nd June 2020, the site now shows:

MOT valid until 22 December 2020

Ah - thanks - very helpful. Extensions in place remain valid but you can elect to have an earlier MOT if you wish

Ah, OK. So basically, once everything re-opens we can get it done as we please. Makes sense.

The MOT on mine was due the week lockdown started, so it got done on the due date. Could have had it tested or serviced at any time over lockdown as the workshop at the dealers has been open throughout. The sales part of the business wasn't available.

Not had it serviced as that has been extended by 6 months, so no point jumping too soon.

I wonder how many jobs would have been saved if MOT test centres had remained open and operated social distancing measures.

Oddly the caravan motor mover wasn't able to be fixed until lockdown is over in case we then went away to closed campsites with it. But having a car with an extended MOT we could take the disease to Barnard Castle at any time

Doesn't affect me at all, mine is not due till 18th April 2021 The last keeper must have got it done somewhere
