I have a 2004 registered CLK240 2.6 Automatic. It recently had an A service and both front springs renewed (genuine MB parts). Do members think £645 a reasonable charge or not?

Didn't obtain a quote and serviced by an Independent Mercedes specialist.

I would have thought A service might be £150
Each spring £70-80 ish for MB parts ?
Maybe 4 hours at £70-80 an hour (total guess )

Yep. Especially if you don't have the correct spring compressor.
So true.
Got my Hilka compressor today.
Cant use it on the A Class - to wind it up enough doesn’t work out either both threaded bars hit the floor too early or if reversed one side would go into the trailing arm!!

so plan B take off the damper and lower the trailing arm on a jack, remove the old and then compress the other with the jack until the damper and torsion bar line up .... :-/
