Hello, my 1998 E300 has got clouded front light lenses and I can drive around on full beam now and noone complains! Looks like the plastic has aged badly. Can I get new lenses or are any newer lights compatable? Thanks. Iain

Try 1200 W&Dry then T-Cut,
or I have no doubt some one will suggest "Wallet polish" available in tiny bottles at ludicrous prices.
It doesn't polish much except the vendors wallet.

Maguiars Plast-RX Plastic Polish, Apply & Machine Buff off.

Wet/Dry process is ok but as you'll be taking off a layer from the headlights you'll have to do this process regularly.

Having cleared the lenses, would X-Rain (or similar) not protect - or seal - the treated lenses, thus avoiding repeating the process regularly?

It has been done with great success with 1200 to 1500 paper and a plastic polish like, the above. Mothers polish is very good

Nope just polish them when you polish the car, there is nothing else that can be applied

Our valeter uses some sort of autosmart compound and machine polishes them, always works a treat and they look brand new. I quite often buy Porsche 996's and the older lights seem to suffer quite badly from this but after 20 mins they look good again.

hi - the use of toothpaste works wonders on the head lamps...just use a large pea size....and gentle scrub with a tooth brush.....with some foaming....and finally rinse off.

this method has even appeared on youtube.

hope this has help.
