Hello everyone, I am the new in group from Sweden. I have some issues with the headlight of my E200 (2004 model). I know nothing about technical stuff if anyone could please help me. So, the headlight lamp stopped working, my friend checked it and he suggested that the control unit is not working ( because I installed a new bulb which didn't work). So I bought a used Controller from a recognized dealer which did not work either. When we took out the entire headlight, I saw there were two control units ( I don't know if I am calling it right but I assume the other one also looks like the control unit). I took the picture of it and there is this number, 5DV 008 290 00 and 13420101597089. I checked it everywhere but I could not find the control unit with the second number. What should I do? If I buy a similar unit with a different number, would that work too? Kindly guide me

Thank you. But, number on the old unit must match with the new unit, right? or it does not matter and I can buy any unit having a different number?

Yes it should be all the same, just use your 5DV 008 290-00 number. The other numbers usual relate to dates and manufactures code. Not all car parts are made at the same businesses so consequently find other numbers differ from you original part, but should still be able to do the same function. ;)

Perfect, thank you so much. There are plenty of used units available with number 5dv 008 290 00. Hope it will work on my car. Thanks a lot
