be very carefull touching these type of glow plugs they snap so easily and if it does you might as well price a new engine its not much dearer than a head dont forget that its a cdi engine so glow plugs are only needed for extreme cold start i have heard though that if you get the engine stinking hot and poor cola into the glow plug recess and lave for a time it can loosen them off might be worth a try sounds mad but if your stuck !!!!.good luck

Recieved a panicked phone call from a friend some years ago. He had decided to replace the plugs in his wifes new car with the same result. (Fortunatly the wife was out at the time but he needed it sorting before she came home)!!

Resolved the problem by removing the plugs ceramic casing and using a set of reverse thread self tapping screws from the local motor store and a long handled torque wrench.

Don't know if this will work on MB glowpligs though.

Hi

As Benzover has said. The engine needs to be really hot before trying to remove the plugs. Coca Cola can be used to help loosen. Whatch that they don't break.

Don't try & drill them out as the debris can fall into the engine & cause more damage. They only have a tightening torque of something like 10Nm.
