Hi Guys And Girls
Im New To The forum and i really hope i can get some advice from owners of mercedes e320 cdi(pre 2003)

Ive joined up on the site to find out as much as i can about the mercedes benz e320 cdi(pre 2003-2001),after getting married at the start of the month i had two fantastic s class mercs and it gave me the inspiration to expand my own buisness into offering a wedding car to various companies in and around the area

Ive got my own buisness as a courier and sub contract my services out on a daily basis

After searching the net,ive kind of set my sites on the e320 cdi due to it being a diesel and give more mpg return, all seem to be of a high mileage and not sure if its a good thing or bad thing?

Ive owned bmw 3 series before, and i currently own a subaru impreza wrx and shall be selling this to add towards my merc fund

Just need some advice from experianced merc owners as i dont want to go out looking for complete dogs, ive got around 5k to spend and need it to work in my favour

Any advice would be great, and apologies if ive waffled
i kind of see stepping into merc status is of a higher level:D:D

Welcome to the...

...forum good to hear of your plans and I am sure you will being getting a stack of advice soon, in the meantime do a search (drop down menu top of page) on your model this should give you some general pointers as to best year, problems and solutions etc.

Merc diesels just go on and on. I do some part time long distance driving for a friend who has 6x W211 - 220CDI's 2 manual and the rest auto's. At present the oldest has over 450K on the clock and still returns 50+ to the gallon (a 6 speed manual) never had any major repairs/work just regular servicing.

I am sure the 320 can at least match that if not exceed it - other than the MPG:)

Best of luck.

You will need to do a little searching,, the bodies of the cars can be seen, to check for any rust on the rear arches. Cars from 04-2003 are galvanized, cars from 04-2004 have the Nano paint.

You need to be sure that there have been no gearbox issues, that was caused by the Valeo rads leaking glycol into the box. Cars fitted with the BEHR rads are fine and not affected, thats about the best and worst of it, they are great cars
