One of the benefits of growing old. I pay less for all four of my car's then my 17 year son does for one.

Welcome mate. How much did they sting you for the insurance?

I originally insured my first car - a 1.5D Rover metro and this cost me £1008 for the year.

I then took Pass Plus (at a cost of £120) because a number of insurance companies give a discount for this. Then when changing to the C250TD I paid an additional £321 for the remaining 7 months.

Whilst this is a lot of money the difference in driving the merc compared to the rover is worth every penny :)

Am I getting old?

Hi All

When I was 17 all I could afford was a push bike. I saved for ages and borrowed money from my parents when I started work and bought myself a BRG-coloured Leyland Mini 850. A Mercedes was considered by most to be a toy for the rich & famous. It took me almost 40 years to own my first Mercedes.

Today's young seem to have more disposable income and more choice. However, I was never stung as a young driver, insurance-wise, compared with todays young drivers.

REGARDS

Phil
