Please help -

I have a J plate 2.0L auto 190e with a cold start problem. It cranks and cranks but takes for ever to actually fire up. Once it hs warmed up its starts and runs fine but when its cold it runs like a dog until warm. (if I can acutally get it start) I have read the thread from May 2004 in the general forum and this seems to be a similar problem, I am struggling to follow the advice.

I have already replaced the cold start valve. This has no effect. The advice last year relates to the checking a 2 pin plug in the front of the fuel regulator. I have found a three pin plug but I am not sure of this is what I am looking for. I am also struggling to find fuse refferd to as "the main system fuse" in relation to the over voltage relay. Please help as I am armed only with a dubious Haynes Manual, some old tools and boundless enthusiasm. (I fear I have distinct lack of sound mechanical knowledge).

The OVP relay has a red 10 amp fuse on top. If its blown funny things can happen to the starting/running of a 190

The relay is located behind the battery (look for black plastic panel which can be pullled away revealing the ECU and beside it the OVP). BTW its best to remove battery as its all rather tight in there.

I'm trying to recall which connector is near the fuel regulator but cant at this hour! The regulator is under the airbox just in front of the EHA (air intake) there is a connector besides the regulator on the front of the EHA its a black
oblong shape. I think its two pins so that may be the item in question. Its called the airflow sensor.

In the Haynes book look for page 4B.8

Mike.

Thanks

problem solved the 10amp fuse had blown. On the later 190e it sits on top of the relay under a clear plastic cover to the back left hand side of the ecu. Many thanks
