Thats not good for if you cannot get a drill in, its head off or engine out. Just as a tip for anyone doing this, the large aerosols of freezer work just as well as heat, as it is the shock that loosens the nuts

As the actress said to the bishop!!

Heat tends to work better as the nut expands away from the stud....

Hi
In this case, what are you heating with your blow torch, the outside of the nut?
So, do you have to be very precise and make sure the flame does not go near the stud ?

Not too precise. The thermal conduction will cause expansion of the stud as well, just not as quickly as the nut. You are only trying to break the hold of the rust/muck..

The point is here is that it still comes down to shock,,freezing under went a huge test where you could not put a torch and it worked well.

Hi I can only find nut so there must be studs broken of
http://www.detali.ru/cat/oem_mb2.as...GM=716.644&CT=M&cat=21T&SID=14&SGR=060&SGN=02
is this correct
You will have to drill them out using the manifold as a drilling jig with some custom made drill bushes then re-tap might need custom made studs depending on how they drill out no head our engine removal drill with one of these see pic

Kevin

Thats a great tool there Kebo for doing the job, just thinking , yes very good to use the manifold as a guide,if you used some tubing in the hole, then you could use a smaller drill, still keep central, easy to clean out and save the existing thread.
