Hi folks !!

I'm looking at buying an ML, I went for a test drive in 270CDI today and was impressed.:)

Iv'e heard all the scare mongering stories, but for all the bad there's the good, so I'm set on getting one.

So here's where you can help, The car will only do around 6K a year.

Do I go for the 270CDI or the 320, I'm looking at spending around 13K.

I also like the auto/tip box and Iv'e heard this is the one to go for, especially on the deisel due to the torque it kicks out.

So, petrol Manual or auto OR diesel auto ??

One more thing, what would it cost to remap the diesel to increase the BHP?

I know it's alot of questions, but you guy's are the experts;)

Many thanks

Rob

Auto always then with the miles you are doing probably the petrol as you will no doubt get a newer one for the same money.

As blobcat really, If your mileage is the same as mine then the difference from the fuel cost from the worst to the best will be about £350 at the most per year, You must have an auto, as they are nicer to drive, in my view with a better residual value. MB diesels are amongst the best in the world. Re mapping a diesel is more effective than on a petrol.

No, as your looking at 2nd hand and that only relates to new. You can check the VED cost on the DVLA site.

Quite a few ML owners recommend Parktronic

Have a search around the forum as there are quite a few ML owners on here and many have posted issues and fixes.
