Hi,

I have got a W202 C200 Komp (Year 2000) Auto Estate and I have bought the tool from Merc to check the auto box oil level. I understand that as this tool can be used for several different models and does not get inserted all the way into the red handle. Can anyone tell me how I go about checking the level.

Many thanks

Nick

Just a little more detail .....Take the car for a good drive to get the engine and gearbox up to full working temp....with the car on level ground and in 'park' and the engine running at idle speed insert the dipstick into the dip-tube until you just feel the tip touch the bottom of the sump (dont force it in anymore or you will get a false reading as the flexible tip will 'flatten' onto the bottom of the sump) withdraw the dipstick and take the reading from the upper '80' degree scale where the level should be approx between the upper and lower markings.
