Need to purchase another vehicle for the company and right now it's a toss up between the new S class or the Lexus 600Lh. The S is the default choice for my sort of business, but I don't know much about them and was wondering if anybody here is running one and can tell me if they 'feel' expensive again.

On the other hand, with the tree huggers buying in to Red Kens ideas perhaps a hybrid Lexus is less offensive. My question is this though:

If you'd booked a car to take you and your missus / hubby to London for a theatre trip, what would you feel happiest about being in?

Obviously I'm expecting alot of you to say MB, but this is a serious conumdrum for me and I don't want to spend a fortune on a Lexus because of its eco - ness, to find people expect a black S class to pick them up and 'balls to the environment - I'm trying to impress my bird..............' sorta thing.

I think space is the most important thing. Second place - quietness.

Have no idea which one is the biggest.

I have got a number of customers who run s class as lux hire vehicles who have also purchased other prestige models such as the Audi A8 which is a lovely car, but as one of them said most of his clients insist on only being driven in the s class so he now only purchases s320 cdi lwb and the odd e320 cdi and this guy has contracts with B.P petrolium and H.S.B.C and the like.

I think the MB is often thought of as the roomiest in the back but I think the Lexus Lwb is quite large too. As for quietness the Lexus must win it, but then having said that, the mother in law has a Prius and the engine seems to be running most of the time.

Thanks CJ - useful to know. I know that certain other nationalities insist on a Black MB S class and nothing else.
