A bit of an odd question but here you go.... :D

As soon as you've passed your test (ie at 17+) in theory you can legally drive any Merc car you wish from A class to SLR. However, what makes this 'in theory' is the fact that you've got to insure it to drive and most insurers look at young, new drivers in anything bigger than a 1200cc and think "££££££" and stack the premium accordingly.

So, there is nothing stopping you from driving ANYTHING apart from not being able to afford to insure!

The Govt would like to address this issue (ie limit the power of the car you can drive straight after passing your test) to bring it in line with motorbikes, but I don't think that'll happen for a while and then it's unlikely to affect those with a licence.

Hope this helps

Hello there i am 17 and i drive a C220 CDI, so there is no problem driving a merc, just watch the insurance though because some company's try to sting you. (Qunn-Direct is a good bet)

Have Fun Driving

Absolutely - I used to drive mty Dads new 380SE when I was 18. I probably shouldn't have as with hindsight it was way too powerful and I doubt any insurance company would allow it these days, without a massive hike in premium anyway.
But - you can drive a £300,000 Merc at 17 on a provisional licence - if you can afford the cover.
