it has full service history and looks a very tidy car it's just the tardis miles are worrying me a little

The High milage could have kept the car in good condition, better than standing around doing nothing. Many of these cars go over 500k when used as taxis overseas.

If I bought it,I would check to see if it had a duplex timing chain, if it was a simpex its worth converting it.

You cant tell without some history on the car, or by removing the rocker cover, how easy depends on your skills as the timming cover need taking off to convert

It may be possible top work it out from the Vin Number or engine number.

92 is ok,no problems with that, its duplex.

this will be the M103 engine. if it hasn't been done already at that mileage you'll probably be looking at getting a top-end re-build soon and I expect the engine will be using a fair bit of oil. Also look out for head gasket issues.

I had a S280 (W140) with full MBH it had done 185K when I moved it on, never had any trouble with it.

according to the seller it doesn't use any at all but it's very hard to prove untill i actually own the car i spose

laeve the car on idle for a couple of mins,then rev it up,any smoke will prove that, you can also undo the oil filler cap at see if there is nuch blow back.
