Hello all.
My 98 c180 manual engine stays at high revv after cold start for a long time. A quick rev will drop it back to normal 750rpm but it will creap back up again. I did have carb sprayed with suitable cleaner but it made no difference.
Any ideas on how to correct this.
Tks n advance

It is normally the idle change switch built into the throttle body housing

On cars with motronic the idle change over switch is inside the throttle body, what happens is the switch wears so that when it hits the end stop the contacts do not make, the cheap answer is to file of the stop so that the switch can close.

I could print off a paper that explains roughly the problem and how a mechanic solved it
