I talk about my new E Class here.

It's an E320 CDI Sport which I'll be getting the Brabus Chip for (This is from the dealership, and they've only offered me one, If I can specify an alternative more powerfull chip let me know what to ask for n that would be tremendous)

Is there anything else I can do to get any more out of that 320?

Any ideas would be appreciated.

firstly the brabus chip is the best as it's the only one signed off by MB. Others may give more power but they'll just overload something and you'll have reliability problems. As the brabus chip doesn't affect your warranty, thats the one to go for.
As Jez says, tell your insurance co or you're not insured.

As far as getting even more power. Why? The 320cdi chipped is a very fast car, especially in real world conditions. Ok, there may be faster stuff 0-60 (not much though) but the cdis have it where it counts - mid range. As a vectra sport driver discovered the other day. Ok, he was quicker off the line than my little 270cdi but when he tried to stop me overtaking, and he tried very hard, he just couldn't. The turbo came in and the game was up.

If you want more power, ask the dealer to swap it for an nice used E55 or E63.

As Jberks has suggested the E320 has more than enough beans for the average Joe Soap but with the Brabus Chip it really makes you wonder why anyone would want a petrol car, Don't even think about going down the route of some back street kid with a laptop to give you more power, believe me try the brabus if your still not happy with the power buy a AMG.

Thanks for the responses lads.

Thats particularly interesting though Jon cos one of my best friends has been working for Merc over ten years and he's offered to re-map it for me. I've been getting really excited at the prospect but now that you've said that I'm not sure. He knows what he's doing like, but do you think it's a pure no no? Or If it's someone who's quite experienced do you think It might be something to have done?

there are lots of maps out there which are sh1t3

be careful which one you go for, i would advise the brabus one as it keeps your warranty valid, diesels are fast and the new v6cdi is great and brabus its arse it will be better, fast enough for most, if its not fast enough buy an e55 amg kompressor, kick arse car.

If you feel confident with your friends expertise on this then go ahead but really Brabus tend to do things to perfection and having had the pleasure of running around in a smart forfour brabus for a few months, driving E class, Cls & S class with the Brabus Chips and without i would have to ask myself does your mate know as much as brabus do regarding the subject, not to mention the testing periods that brabus have subjected there product too, If it all goes pete tong where will that leave your E320????????. There is no better way to enjoy Diesel performance that Brabus, I have even managed to get a guy out of a BMW 535D M Sport and he will testify that the E320 with D6 Chip is a seroius drivers car, Keep me updated i would love to know how you find the Chip which ever road you go down.
