Well, I've just paid £430.00 inc VAT (including fuel filter) for my B service (79,000) at Mercedes Benz Truro. I was actually very impressed from start to finish with their service. I would use them again for sure.
I've just seen where you are -Bristol..I think Truro MB up to Bristol is all part of the same group -South West Mercedes.
I would go with Helen's advice above or find another MB specialist in your area. A W210 is long out of warranty and unless you have a full MB history and planning a claim against corrosion I wouldn't go to Mercedes unless they compete with the independents on price (& quality)
Just had a B service on my E270cdi - plus brake fluid change (SBC), new fuel filter and new air filter which aren't cheap. Dealers wanted between £500 and £600 - paid £327 inc vat and loan car from my local indie. Indie is definately the way to go.
For reference - a dealer starts around £400 for a B and an indie around £200 but nobody can give you an accurate price as it varies wildly on what is required which in turn is based on what has been done previously. For example, has the gearbox oil been changed at any point. If not, at that mileage I'd strongly recommend it.
Thanks everyone, I have full MBSH and would like to keep it that way, I have made a lot of paint claims, so far all have been agreed. I'll stick with the main dealer so if I need any more warranty work done in the future it should go in my favour. Mind you they seem to be getting stricter. Telling me things like, " paint warranty is only eight years, we'll do it as a good will gesture".
BTW, I just called Sytner (Bristol) and was quoted £299. inc.
