In good nick, clean with no scratches or dents.

Been untouched in a garage for 15 years.

I have no idea so am grateful for any advice.

Thanks

That sounds sensible Mike. Paradoxically, those who keep their 107s well will not need a hardtop (unless they have accident damage), whereas those cars which have been less well looked after may have corrosion problems in the hard top, but because of the general condition of the car, the owner might not see £500 in replacing the roof.

Best bet may well be someone doing a project, or possibly a specialist who needs one to complete an otherwise good car.

How you choose to market this is therefore everything. E Bay, specialist mags are the best bets, but there may be someone in the forum eying it up already? (Suspect any post that suggests a lower value!).

Put it in Mercedes Enthusiast for £500 and see what happens.

I recall buying a hardtop hoist from you once upon a time Helen. You got the marketing and pricing right then, and I think you have it right again.

A satisfied customer.

There are plenty of members who have much newer mercs than classics. Paradoxically they are the ones that seem to go wrong more often . :D

I seem to be somewhere in the middle Mike - 1994 R129.

New enough to be reliable, old enough not to be too complicated or to rust, but early 129 prices not currently at all good.

I suppose, as Meatloaf would have said, 2 out of 3 ain't bad!

I guess that is true but the specialist dealers like CCB, Avantgarde, and the one in Lancashire et al are demanding phenomenally high prices for R129s. I wonder if they get those prices?
