Hi folks, I hope someone can help.

My CLK battery is flat. I am about to splash out on a charger but a thought has occurred to me.

The battery is in the boot, so if I remove the battery and close the boot, how will I get back into the boot to replace the now charged battery?

I live in a flat and the car is parked on the street, so I can't leave the boot open while the battery is out of the car being charged.

Am I being daft here? I'm just worried the the boot wont open without electric power, which the car won't have because I will have the battery.

Any thoughts appreciated.

Thanks,

Derek

Do you have the metal key? Also...without the battery, how will you lock the car?

As above do check that you can access the boot via the metal key

First question to answer is why is the battery flat?

If everything is ok with the car e.g. no untoward drains on the battery, could it be it has reached the end of it's serviceable life, in which case buying a new battery would be much simpler.

Ah. I think you have answered my question. I have the metal key, so I can open boot and lock door?

I knew I was being thick!

Thanks - Derek

Do try it first in the boot lock to make sure that it will open

I wouldn't buy a charger, I would buy a new battery.
