Hi all,

Needed some help, I have a Mercedes 220 CDi Blue efficiancy 2014 with standard halogen headlight. I want to change the headlights to have Xenon ones (not crappy HID kit) any advice on if I can do this and where I can purchase the lights from?

TIA

Faz

It's not a trivial task.
You need levelling sensors, the wiring to connect them, the electronics to control them, the headlights themselves, and a headlight wash system if one isn't already fitted.

It could well be cheaper to sell the car and replace with one with the right spec.
Or do as the rest of us do and fit Osram Nightbreakers unlimited bulbs. Fully legal higher out put halogen bulbs.

As Alistair said.
Cheaper to sell the car and buy one with bi Xenons.
Less risk too.
Unless MB do a specific kit, who knows what else is interconnected .. and software??

And I thought level sensors were all about ABC.... :-0
When I replaced my stiff ball joint level sensor arms ... where do you find them .... under headlight control.
And I bet there is some interaction with the accellerator level sensor in the back too.
Your parts list could go on and on, not to mention setting the car up.

I reckon you could get a year youger car with xenons cheaper.

When I got my car, bi-xenons were one of the tick boxes.
They're good but not worth the huge hassle of a retrofit and not worth changing the car unless there are other good reasons.
I wouldn't be too bothered if they were not on my next car, nice to have but not essential.

I get my parts from UltimateStyling.co.uk - very reasonable!
