Hunting

I have a 2004 C220 cdi,when the engine is warm and under low load,ie when i've decelerated, i put my foot back on the throtle just to maintain momentum the car starts to "hunt", it feels as though the power is coming in waves although only little waves it is starting to become distracting because i'm always looking at the rev counter to see when it does it the most, it seems to be at its most noticable between 2000 and 2500 rpm.Its been doing it now for the best part of 2 years,i've to my local MB dealer countless times but they can't pinpoint the problem although they admit there is a problem. One engineer said "Oh they all do that after 30.000" miles:sad: (mine has done 61.000) but i don't believe it.Anybody else experienced a similar problem ?

I would think that possibly the MAF may be going down,,they do not show up on the STAR MB test set. You could try the car with it unplugged and see if it is the same

Or a possible fault with the electronic accelerator control module....a very common fault on bmw's....it should show up on the star diagnostic..

I have just had another thought on this one..the Valeo problem Humming and or jolting at light throttle between 1500 and 2500RPM this also fits the bill even though an 04 car we have had a few slip through after 09-03 A glycol would show this one up
