(Apologies I think i posted in the wrong forum)

in my very first foray into classic M-B ownership.

I'm down the cost of a detailed inspection, but better that than £1000's

where do I start looking for a good SLC? what are the pitfalls?

Hit me with every bit of advice you have!

There have been a few past threads on what to look out for in a W107, which a search of the site should find for you. These have typically been on the SL rather than the SLC. I'm guessing a bit here, but I expect the key additional point is the sunroof, especially the drains. If this works on a similar principle to, say, the W126 SEC then check for rust in the rear parcel shelf.

Happy hunting!

Hi there SLC, if you look back on here, Jeremy(I think) found one abandoned. I have found one in a reasonable state of disrepair, but it only has 54k on the clock and is left hand drive. I want the car, I have to small kids, so the extra seating requirement rules out SL's, and I dont have that sort of money. On the down side, my wife doesnt want the car, so if anyone has bright ideas for hiding a 450SlC from the wife, PLEASE LET ME KNOW.

I'm still searching, but I've sold my wife on the car, as a safe and practical car for the family. 8)
