Mercs Only

Hi,

Just to let u guys know, I ve had my car serviced from Mercs Only in Hanwell and were very good and reliable.. I gave them my E320 CDi and they did a wonderful job. Its due for another service very soon and will send it back them boys.

Plus they are SO much cheaper than going to my local main dealer in Berkshire who charged me over £600 last time for a smaller service..

thanks, Raj

Hi folks - just read all the 'interesting' comments about Mercs Only - I've seen their web site but never been there as it's a bit out of my area. Anyone tried Automerc in Hornsey? I've found them to be very helpful in the past.

Mercs Only are COWBOYS STAYAWAY

I would second that, I gave my wifes A class and it came back damaged and the said the damage was already there (which it wasn't).

Also I asked about a few minor works to be done on my e320, they pretty much brushed me off by saying that I should off done a service with them.

The are just a bunch of money grabbing ash*les and p!ss takers. Never again!!! and I'll tell my mates and family the same...

I'd be grateful for mercstars details.

Cheers

And I hope Mercs Only go out of business soon...........

Yeah mate, i totally agree, at forst when i went they were ok but now that you mention it, they do take th epi55 out of other customers in front of everyone and someone was also complaining their car was damaged while it was with them..

I wont be ever going there again..

Mercs Only

Dear members,

We as owners are looking for value and a good quality service. So like me you may be tempted by slick advertising. Don't even think about it. Disappointment is an understatement.

Further to my previous note I also was ripped off by these people. Who wants to join me in taking them to court.

Result!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey People Persistance Pays off. I had some big issues with Mercs Only they stuffed my car up big time and the owner had the f***ing cheek to call me a Victim. What a F***ing Liberty????? I was prepared to take them to court but under the Consumer Credit act and the Sale of goods act I was able to get my bank to settle nearly all my bill. Result!!!

To all Mercdes owners avoid these AH's at all costs. The sooner they go bust the better.:D

Listen all , DO NOT USE MERCS ONLY, these guys are clowns. My CLK 230 broke down 1hr after a major service.

After taking it back to them they denied any wrong doing and said it would cost me OVER £1000 for repairs to throttle body and air mass sensor. I went straight to main dealer who i paid £150 for full diagnostic and road test, NOTHING wrong with the car, not sure what these guys did but definetly bad.

Spread the wrod do not use the guys.

If anyone know a good merc specialist in west london please let me know need to get some work done.

Cheers

Ive just used Colin Ferns in Richmond, SW London who did a good job on my 2001 CLK55 AMG. I needed an honest garage who cared about the work and the car - came back in A1 condition. 020 8332 7660

Service charges

I have had two Mercedes, first a 190 2.6, now a 220CDI estate. Two very different animals with one common fault, the servicing charges by MB main dealers. Walton Motors thought it was their duty to try and empty my bank account. I started using a local MB "specialist" whom although slightly cheaper still seemed to think that I was a lottery winner. I cured this situation by moving to France. One of my first discoveries was a proper Mercedes dealer near where I now live. With great trepidation I took my car there for a service, and found to my delight a garage that has restored my faith in human nature. Four years down the line nothing has changed they do everything I ask, plus advise me on all aspects of care for my car. All for the princley sum of 50 Euro an hour, they do not work on piece work or time researched fantasies. When I used to ask Walton Motors what time will it be ready? The stock reply was phone up at 5.30 PM. In France Garage Palant say 12.30, 2.30 or whatever it will be. They give us a completely free courtesy car and treat us like valued customers, and it is a pleasure to deal with them. It might be due to the fact that a lot of the French do their own servicing, our local supermarket sells amongst other things Glow Plugs, imagine that in Sainsburys. So good food, cheap wine and cheap servicing for Mercedes, what else could a boy want? NickP

Independent Servicing????

Hi, Im new to the forum and my dad recently purchased a ML270 CDI. We went down to Mercs Only with regards to a seat cable no working and they wanted to charge £300 + vat + parts to find out the problem. In my opinion stay clear as we took one panel off and located the cable where it had broken.

Has any one used or heard of this new Mercedes Specialist in South Ruislip, Premier Service, http://www.premier-service.co.uk/. They have branched out from Leicester, the ML needs a good check and pads and discs. Does anyone have any feedback on them or a trust worthy mercedes specialst or should I just take it to the main dealer?

Regards

Hi,

Welcome to Forum, why don't you try to get the breaks done any local car mechanic as its not a major work and any big dealer will charge a lot for it. Whereas you can get away with around £100 odd labour charges if go to local repairer.

I am attempting to change my break discs and pads tomorrow. I am planning to use this mobile mechanic who usually come around and repair/service cars. He is very good with 200/230 kompressor engines.

You can try parts from Uniparts, GSF or Euro parts. They all equallly good and way cheaper than dealership

Parts from GSF, Euros etc are NOT ALWAYS as good.
Brake pads being a case in point.
Manufacturers such as Jurid, Textar etc produce pads that look identical but are in fact made of different compositions according to which packaging and end user they are destined for.
You CAN buy the RIGHT pads from alternative suppliers but you need to know where to look.
Cheapest, especially when it comes to brakes, is not always best.
Mobile mechanics are also a bit of a minefield....
Sure, some are excellent, but others?
Do they have proper insurance? Are they properly trained?
What happens if the job doesn't go according to plan? Do they have all the facilities of a fully equipped workshop in the back of their van? Will you be happy if your car is left in the side of the road partly dismantled for a couple of days while he goes off and tries to find the special bolt that just snapped off in your stub axle?
Where does he dispose of his waste materials?
What come back do you have if he makes a mess of something?
Is he a registered company that is obliged to comply with commercial laws?
You pays your money you takes your choice......

I have bought ATE from ECP which is OE to Merc and The ones i have taken off are also ATE. Paid £176 for the brake pads and disc all around.

Not all the mechanics are the same, The guy i use has been fixing my cars for years and have no problem with it. Also if the mechanic is registered and full certified then he would have had paid loads for the training which means he will charge for the service he provide. I paid him £60 for fitting on my drive. Apart from everything else, this convinience is the most appreciated rather than leave my car at mechanics and then get lift and then also make my own way to mechnics to pick the car up again. I didn't have to move at all which means i had everything done for me at home for £60 which is 1hr labour at MB rates.

sure i have to dispose the discs and pads but there is a local recycling center where they i can go and drops the old parts off. But I would much rather get all my brakes done with OE parts for "236 than pay MB £650 for them
